What we do.

At Water Damage Repairs, we offer a comprehensive range of services designed to tackle water damage at every stage. From escape of water and flood damage restoration to storm, sewage, drain overflow and water damage caused by firefighting, we handle it all. Our team works closely with your insurance provider to ensure a smooth and efficient claims process, while our skilled professionals restore your property to its original state.

Leak Detection for hard-to-find leaks.

We have a division called Leak Tracers Direct who can connect you with a specialist engineer to assist in tracing and accessing the water leak. Insurers will not accept a claim for water damage repairs until the cause of the damage has been found and verified as being an insured peril.

Structural drying.

When water damage is present, professionally accredited drying technicians carry out professional structural drying and moisture remediation to prevent secondary damage such as mould or material deterioration. They also record the electricity used by drying equipment so these costs can be reclaimed from your insurer.

Negotiating with insurer.

Our FCA-regulated claims team present the buildings claim and handle all negotiations with your insurer. Once the claim is settled, our skilled tradesmen do all the repairs so your property is put back to how it was. Our service is completely free to you*, providing you let us carry out the approved repairs.

Carrying out repairs.

Unlike loss assessors, we carry out the approved repairs to restore your property after water damage. We manage the repair process through to completion, keeping everything organised and on schedule. We also keep the insurer’s file open until all agreed works are completed and signed off.

Sending the bill to your insurer.

The invoice for your approved repairs is sent directly to your insurer – not to you. The only cost you pay is the excess on your policy. We will recover all costs from your insurer so you don’t have to worry about paying for any of the approved repairs.

Why water damage repairs need the right approach.

In 2025, consumer champion Which? took the rare step of filing a formal super-complaint to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), calling out serious failings by UK Insurers from delayed payouts to unfairly rejected property damage claims

In water damage repairs, this can commonly lead to:

  • Damage being undervalued
  • Repairs beginning before thorough drying has taken place
  • Claims being settled before the full impact of moisture is understood

Our approach is built to hold insurers fully accountable and by making they fairly indemnify you for the cover you are entitled to.

FAQs

Here are answers to some of the most common questions our clients have about water damage repairs and insurance claims. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, feel free to contact us directly. We’re here to help!

Is water leak insurance important?

Yes, escape of water cover is standard in most policies and protects your property from unexpected water damage. It helps cover the cost of drying restoration and repairs, so you’re not left with a hefty financial burden.

Can I deal with water damage myself?

Typically, it’s best to leave significant repairs to the professionals. Water damage can hide in places that are difficult to detect and, if not dealt with correctly, can lead to mould growth, structural damage, and further complications. Our experts can assess and address the damage efficiently, preventing long-term issues.

Does home insurance cover water damage repair?

Most home insurance will cover water damage caused by sudden one-off events such as a burst pipe, drain blockage or leak. However most policies exclude damage from neglect or gradual leaks. Our team can help you navigate your insurance claim to ensure you’re covered.

How fast does water damage get worse if I wait?

Water damage can worsen very quickly, especially if left unaddressed. Within hours, water can weaken structural materials, lead to mould growth, and cause further property deterioration. The sooner you act, the more likely you are to prevent long-term damage and minimise the cost of repairs.

How long does water damage restoration take?

The length of time for restoration depends on the extent of the damage. Minor repairs can take a few days, while larger, more severe cases may take several weeks to fully restore. After our initial assessment, we’ll provide you with a more accurate timeline for your specific situation.

Will I need to move out during water damage repairs?

Insurers deem a property to be uninhabitable if there is no sleeping, cooking or bathing facilities as a result of the water damage or the restoration works. We’ll assess the situation and negotiate cover for alternative accommodation if this is required. Our goal is to restore your home quickly and with minimal disruption.

How much does water damage repair cost?

The cost of water damage repair varies depending on the severity of the damage and the affected areas. Once we have agreed the repairs with your insurer the repair invoice is sent directly to your insurer. You are only responsible to pay the excess quoted on your policy.
